2 kids killed in early morning Kingston fire

[Sharingbuttons]Fire took over the Walker’s Place of Safety on Lyndhurst Crescent in Kingston at about 12am this morning, after 29 fire fighters battle to put out the fire which took about 45minutes, the burnt remains of two children were found in the debris. The cause of the fire is not yet been determine.

The privately owned Walker’s Place of Safety on Lyndhurst Crescent in Kingston was used to house 36 children with ages up to 12 years old, who have been abandoned or removed from their homes because of unstable conditions.

The 34 children that survived the fire were taken to a temporary holding facility at a nearby church. In the meantime, the Ministry of Education and Youth says counseling is being offered to the children and staff, through the child protection and family services agency.
