Press Release – Born Brenton Ross, Popularly known in his hometown of Somerset, St. Thomas as Dancehall Artiste Kurency, the versatile deejay is looking to make an impact in dancehall in the very near future.
Known throughout his adolescent years in his Trinityville, St. Thomas community as “the yute weh can deejay”, Kurency didn’t officially begin his music journey until 2014, when he officially began writing songs. He later competed at JCDC’s St Thomas regional in 2018, and although he gained fans outside of St. Thomas at the Kingston competition he didn’t get his big break.
Believing in his heart that his silky voice has a special place in today’s music landscape, Kurency pressed forward and then crossed paths with fellow St. Thomas natives, and dancehall producers Richard “Richie Chaplin” Chambers of Richie Chaplin Entertainment (Manager), Producer Kerpatrick “KP Swagg” McDonald of Swagg Records, Producer Stephan “Bone Thugz” Campbell of Bonez Records and Ace Raine of Ace Raine Records
His delivery, unlike most of his musical heroes, is geared at a mainstream audience. Kurency was raised on the sounds of Richie Speice, Vybz Kartel, Chronic Law and Masicka.
“I would describe my sound as smooth, modern, easy on the ears, lyrically-unique and happy,” said Kurency.
Kurency is currentl promoting his latest singles, “Mek It” and “King Yardie” produced by Richie Chaplin Entertainment and “Pertual Life” produced by Garsha Black Production.
Kurency’s latest projects are Pertual Life official Music Video produced by Gasha Black’s Production; Right Touch mixtape and King Yardie Juggling Mix produced by Richie Chaplin Entertainment.
