On Thursday, December 29, a fight involving the use of a knife and machete ensued among a few customers at the Barbican Burger King parking lot which left one dead and two others severely injured.
According to recent reports, another one of the men who were critically injured also died as a result of the physical confrontation.
The initial reports from the incident stated that Ackeem Morgan, a 28-year-old carpenter from Confidence View, Kingston 6, 28-year-old Kaheem Harris (from the same community), and a 23-year-old student were gravely injured from the fight that broke out. Morgan was pronounced dead at the hospital and Harris and the student were said to be suffering from grievous wounds.
Later that night after battling to overcome his trauma, Harris fell victim to his injuries and shortly died. There have been no follow-up reports on the state of the third man who was also admitted.
It was reported that at about 6:50 am the two recently deceased men and another individual were in a black Toyota Noah waiting to use the drive-thru at the Barbican Burger King when an argument erupted between the occupants of the Toyota and some men in a grey Nissan Tiida. For reasons unknown, the passengers of a white BMW motor vehicle sided with the men from the Tiida, and the confrontation turned physical.
The use of a Knife and a machete could be seen in a video that was captured and resulted in Harris, Morgan, and the third individual (name not mentioned) being rushed to the hospital.
Harris and Morgan have since been pronounced dead and the third man’s condition is unknown beyond being critically injured initially.
