Beenie Man Responds to D’Angel’s Single Mother Song: “A Lie She A Tell”

D’Angel released her song Single Mothers in May. The song was dedicated to hard-working mothers and appeared to be based on her own true life experiences, with the artiste mentioning her and Beenie Man’s son Marco Dean.

She also stated in the single that her son could not depend on his father, which suggested that he is hardly in his son’s life. During a clip from an interview that started circulating on Wednesday, Beenie Man was asked about D’Angel’s song.

Seemingly irritated by what the song suggested about his fathering style, Beenie Man told the interviewer not to play it. The deejay went on to state that he is very involved in his children’s lives.

“I am always in my kids life. Always, like 100%. Suh anybody seh that, a lie dem a tell… Anybody weh sing that a lie dem a tell. So if yah talk bout Mosiah, if yah talk bout Moses Jr. and yah talk bout Marco Dean, a lie she a tell. A liad dat,” Beenie said.

Beenie further stated that D’Angel’s song’s lyrics have nothing to do with him and suggested that someone else wrote the song for her.

“Eh nuh have nothing fi do wid me. Whosoever write that song, write that song deh fi har and she sing that song. It’s not about her story or about me,” Beenie stated.

The deejay also shared that he paid for Marco Dean’s education and he was with him on Father’s Day. While Beenie Man may not believe that D’Angel’s song has anything to do with how they co-parent, the singer shared in an interview with the Jamaica Star that she was overcome with emotion while recording it.

The singer also said that she had to teach Marco Dean how to become a man. Both D’Angel and Beenie Man’s ex, Carlene Smith, have accused him of being an absentee father in the past.
