BUJU BANTON TALKS NEW ALBUM, COMMENTS ON KOFFEE AND BLACK LIVES MATTER

Well, known veteran Reggae Artiste Buju Banton has dropped his new album on June 28, 2020, and it has definitely been picking up traction. In a video interview done with the popular international radio station Hot 97, the legendary artiste on explaining the name of the album “Upside Down” said that the name came as a result of things being so upside down in the world and so the album is an effort to convey messages of motivation and upliftment to the people and to impact reggae positively.

Ebro, one of the hosts of the interview went on to let Buju Banton know what a great experience it was visiting Jamaica in 2019 to attend his freedom concert after being incarcerated for a long while in the United States. He then went further by asking Buju how has he seen where Kingston changed from the time he went away to the time he was back.

Buju answered by outlining the many changes he saw where infrastructure was concerned as well as the culture of music with regards to new artistes in the spotlight as well as the females now being seen more in reggae. The artiste in further commenting about his music made it known that a few of his songs that brought him to the international stage were “Champion”, “Murderer” and others explaining further that the music has to be dynamic.

In further answering questions thrown at him by the interviewers Buju Banton touched on other topics such as Koffee’s performance at his show last year which he noted as a great thing because of artistes needing the platform to show their talent and for it to be known who is next in line,

Buju also spoke on the ongoing Black lives Matter protests by letting the interviewers know he supports the movement as he commented that voices should definitely be heard where these issues affecting the people are concerned as well as to the fact that freedom was not given onto anybody without nothing being done.
