Popular local social media personality Candy Wow who is from the Arnett Gardens community in South Saint Andrew has been remanded following her appearance in court on Thursday to answer to an assault occasioning bodily harm charge.
Candy born Keresia ‘Candy Wow’ Brown was arrested and charged for the alleged attack on a female vendor in Old Harbour on April 13. The vendor was reportedly sitting beside her stall when Brown approached and attacked her.
As per the Gleaner report, Candy turned up to the St Catherine Parish Court without a legal representative on Wednesday, April 30 and claimed that she’s not from Jamaica.
She further claimed to be an Irish National and changed her name in the past. The former lady of the night pled not guilty to the charge.
As a result of her statements, checks are currently ongoing to confirm her name and nationality. She is expected to be represented by a lawyer when she next appears in court on the 16th of May 2025.

If found guilty, Candy may face up to three years in lockup.
