Code Orange: Increased-Probability for Storm or Hurricane Formation Over Next 7 Days

As per reports from The U.S. National Hurricane Center on Saturday, there is now an ‘Increased’ probability that the “area of disturbed weather” that’s making its way to the Caribbean could develop into a tropical storm or hurricane.
Despite reports of ‘low-probability’, on Friday, it was mentioned that the possibility is expected to increase as each day goes by. This new bad news about potential bad weather in the near future for Jamaica comes on the heels of Friday’s Squall Line that affected mostly southeastern Jamaica.
Many Jamaicans are also still recovering from the damages done by Hurricane Beryl.
Currently, the “area of disturbed weather” is in the central tropical Atlantic Ocean and is anticipated to interact with an approaching tropical wave soon.
Notably, Jamaica is not in the centre like Haiti and Cuba of the latest forecasted area to be affected, however, the English-speaking island is within the outa area that could be affected.
Saturday evening, Weather Jamaica shared an update about the developement on social media.
The update reads, “CODE ORANGE! The U.S. National Hurricane Center has stated that the chances of tropical storm or hurricane development across the Caribbean during the next seven days have increased. Jamaicans should stay alert just in case. Debby is imminent.”
