Diddy’s Attorney Requests Bond Following Prostitution Conviction and Acquittal of Racketeering

Wednesday morning, jurors returned their verdict, finding Sean “Diddy” Combs guilty on two charges of transportation to engage in prostitution. However, they acquitted him of the more serious racketeering and sex trafficking charges.
He was found guilty on 2 of the 5 charges laid against him.
After the verdict was delivered, the jury was escorted out of the courtroom as proceedings continued in Diddy’s high-profile federal case. Combs’ defense attorney, Marc Agnifilo, immediately requested that the music mogul be released on bond to live at his Florida residence while awaiting sentencing.
“Is your proposal that Mr. Combs leave the courtroom and walk outside?” Judge Arun Subramanian questioned.
“That is my proposal,” Agnifilo responded.
The 55-year-old has been held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn since his arrest by federal authorities in September 2024.
The convictions relate to allegations involving his ex-girlfriend Casandra “Cassie” Ventura and another woman who testified under the pseudonym “Jane.” Combs now faces up to 10 years in prison for these prostitution-related charges.
On Monday, jurors had informed the judge they were deadlocked on the racketeering charge but had reached decisions on four of the five counts. After being dismissed for the day, they returned Wednesday to deliver their partial verdict.
Federal prosecutors argued Combs orchestrated and coerced multiple women, including Ventura and Jane, to participate in highly choreographed sexual encounters with male escorts, described in court as “freak offs” or “hotel nights.”
The Southern District of New York brought the case against Combs last September, alleging he used his powerful business empire to support a sprawling racketeering operation.
The trial, which opened in May 2025, saw the prosecution present 34 witnesses over 29 days of testimony, making it one of the biggest and most closely watched court cases of the year.
