Riley was fatally shot on Saturday, April 26, 2025, in Cockburn Gardens, St. Andrew shortly after midnight. On Tuesday, his family released video footage that shows Riley opening a gate and entering a yard, then seemingly entering his house as they present their case that Riley was innocent.

Notably, Riley fell while approaching his gate as he frantically tries to elude the cops.

The footage also shows law enforcer trailing Riley, entering the gate that was opened moments earlier by him and going in the direction that he had run to, out of the site of the camera.

As per the family, someone began recording with a phone after the police entered the house, however, the phone was taken away from the individual and has not been returned since. A family member also stated that Riley was suffering from a shot wound as he ran from the cops in the video.

The footage is now stirring a huge debate on social media, with many viewers theorizing that Riley had an object in his hand that resembles a gun while running from the cops to his home. Some people are also asking why was he running from the cops if he’s innocent.

Reacting to the footage online, one person commented, “Its sad if he’s an innocent yute still but my question is why are you running like that from police as a innocent man, where he in the company of others before he ran because something your circle contributes to your death, there’s a lot of unanswered questions but RIP TO THE YUTE and condolences to the family.”

On the other hand, someone who is convinced they saw a gun in the victim’s hand, stated, “The family members them just justify the Police them claims by releasing this video.”
