Friday afternoon, I-Octane took to social media to explain why the album got into the Rap & Hip Hop Albums Chart and not the Reggae Albums Chart where it was supposed to be. He highlights that the album’s pre-order was doing good on the chart, so much so that it peaked at number 3.

Much to his surprise, when he check the Reggae Chart the album was not there after it’s release, hours later he found out that the album was registered wrongfully to the “Hip Hop Chart”, however, it was not all bad as he found out that his album was above and or beside several albums done by pop stars in America including Drake and Kendrick Lamar.

With this new accomplishment, I-Octane deems the mistake a blessing from God. He also detailed that the album is expected to register correctly soon in the “Reggae Chart” where it is expected to dominate or be amongst the top 10 rankings.

Born Byiome Muir, I-Octane grabbed the attention of Jamaican fans during the rise of his musical career with relatable and soul-touching Reggae songs. Pivoting in an ever-changing industry, the Lose a Friend singer shifted to his ‘Hot Ras’ persona.

Embracing Dancehall, I-Octane went on to find success as he showed off his versatility with songs like Gimmi Bun. Since the release of his debut album Crying to the Nation in 2012, I-Octane has experienced much in the industry and his personal life, and according to the artiste God and I is a representation of where he is in his career now.

While he continues to showcase his versatility in his delivery of more hard-hitting Dancehall songs, like track 10 Walk Wid A Chip, his Reggae roots are also honoured in more reflective songs, like track 11 Powerful Story and the title track. Prior to the release of the album, I-Octane gave fans a taste of what was to come with his collaboration with Shane O, Opportunist.

Oppertunist, the 9th song on the album, represents a strong personal shift in his life that sees the artiste putting himself first. This priority shift is also explored in track 13 of the album Love Me More. His collaboration with Shane O is one of two features on God and I, with Vershon appearing on track 6, Life is a Blessing.

I-Octane also worked with several producers to bring the album to life. Country Hype Music, Conquer The Globe Productions, Lenkey Records, Channel 17 Records, Antwain Music, Yardstyle Entertainment, Mari Muziq, Soundbank Music, Good Good Productions, Seanizzle Records, Tall King Productions, Levels To Life Productions, and BlingBlang all have production credits on the project.
