Jah Cure Makes Cryptic Post Amidst Rumour of His Release from Prison

Grammy nominated Reggae singer Jah Cure whose real name is Siccature Alcock made a post on social media on Friday amids the circulating rumour that he has been released from prison in the Netherlands.

While multiple news outlets have dismissed the claim that the Montego Bay native is free, Jah Cure is yet to give an official statement on the matter via his social media or close associates.

His post on Friday was a cryptic one, that has fans now speculating. The post shows a view from inside a plane that was in the sky, tagged by his song ‘Before I Leave’. See his post in the slide below:

Notably, Spragga Benz took to Instagram a few days ago to share a photo of Jah Cure along with the caption, “On the road again…road to #prosperity,” which insinuates that the singer is out of prison.

The rumour was initiated by a Facebook user who stated that the 46-year-old is no longer incarcerated, he stated, “JAH CURE FINALLY RELEASED FROM PRISON”. The post quickly racked up over 10k likes and over a thousand comments in less than 24hrs.

However, until a direct update is given by Jah Cure or other means, the Jamaican is believed to be behind bars, awaiting his next court date on June 18, 2025, the case will be heard from 2:00 pm to 4:30 pm.

As per court documents, the ‘Love Is’ singer stabbed event promoter Nicardo ‘Papa’ Blakee in early October of 2021 after the promoter failed to pay him $5000 euros for his performance at his concert. Cure was found guilty of attempted manslaughter after witness statements, CCTV footage, and voice note messages sent by Jah Cure to the victim were heard by the court.

At the time of the incident, Jah Cure was in Europe for multiple months and was seemingly rounding off his three-month tour having performed in Germany, Belgium, and Spain. October 2025 will/would mark 4 years of his 6 years prison sentence. He previously served 8 years behind bars in Jamaica.
