Kartel Hopes to Regain U.S. Visa to Attend Grammy Awards

Dancehall superstar Vybz Kartel has expressed high hopes of having his U.S. visa reinstated. In a recent exclusive interview with Billboard magazine, the internationally acclaimed artist shared his optimism about the possibility of regaining access to the U.S.

When asked about his potential return, the Dancehall icon revealed that his lawyers are actively working on the matter, with all necessary paperwork already submitted. Kartel also voiced his strong desire to attend the 67th Annual Grammy Awards, particularly given his nomination for Party With Me.

The prestigious event is scheduled for Sunday, February 2, 2025, in downtown Los Angeles.

“Definitely working on it, as a matter of fact, we put the documents in, so we waiting basically. Especially because I’m nominated for Grammy’s so it would be a good look for us for all of be there,” Kartel said.

Before his 13-year incarceration, Kartel’s U.S. visa was reportedly canceled by immigration officials in the early 2000s, without explanation. Despite this setback, his music has gained global recognition, consistently topping charts and earning him a massive following in the U.S.
