Lila Iké and Masicka Get Up Close and Personal in ‘Romantic’ Music Video
Reggae star, Lila Iké takes fans on a trip down memory lane with her latest release titled ‘Romantic’. This track which also features Dancehall superstar, Masicka was released along with visuals on Wednesday, July 2.
The song is a reworked version of legendary Dancehall figure, Patra’s hit single, ‘Romantic Call’ which has received great recognition and numerous accolades over the years with a notable one being a Billboard Hot 100 spot which saw the single peaked at number 55 on the chart.
Patra also publicly endorsed the single prior to its release on her Instagram account a couple of days ago.
The music video for this song captured the essence of Dancehall, more specifically 90s Dancehall.
The video started off with Lila on the veranda of a seemingly small house wearing a black green and gold outfit with her hair being adorned with beads showing colours that match her outfit.
Later in the scenes, she was in her room, laying down on her bed while singing the chorus of the song to her love interest.
She sang, ‘I’m on a romantic call, talking to my baby ova di yaad.”
The highlight of the video came when the ‘Where I’m Coming From’ singer and Masicka were both in the scene together, coupled up as the deejay was serenading her with his lyrics.
This isn’t the first time that both artistes have collaborated on a single as Lila was featured on ‘Triumph’, a track on Masicka’s second studio album titled ‘Generation of Kings’ in 2023 which went on to be one of the biggest songs on the project.
‘Romantic’ is said to be one of the lead singles on Lila Iké’s debut album that is set to be released soon. Lila has been doing big things in 2025 as she did her first solo headline tour In the United Kingdom in April earlier this year.
