MC Nuffy Gets Emotional While Thanking Kartel: “Unuh fi rate dah yout yah… A him a di real true King a Dancehall”
MC Nuffy has been a fixture at Kartel’s concerts, something he’s thankful for, and in a newly uploaded video he got emotional as he talked on how the deejay has been helping him.
In the video, which was shared online on Saturday, Nuffy cried as he shared that he was benched for years until Kartel was released from prison.
According to Nuffy, he was held back by people who do not like that he is a strong supporter of Vybz Kartel, but the artiste now brings him out at every one of his events.
As MC Nuffy showed off his private Airbnb, he said that it was all thanks to Kartel. He highlighted that despite facing backlash, he remained supportive of Kartel online, and now even major stars like singer Akon want to meet him. Akon joined Kartel and Nuffy on stage at the deejay’s Reggae Fest concert in Atlanta on Friday.
“Rememba dem bench mi. Rememba mi siddung pan di net and mi a defend yuh. Whole heap a people seh yuh nay in a nutting wid mi and nah look pan mi, yuh nuh like mi yout. Look weh yuh do youth… Now the f**king stars wanna see me, eah know mi. Pass me and a seh ‘A you name Nuffy,” and shake mi hand. All Akon, every star,” Nuffy said.
The MC went on to state that Jamaicans should respect Kartel and dubbed him the real King of Dancehall.
“Look weh wi do Jamaica. Unuh fi rate dah yout yah weh name Kartel. A him a di real true King a Dancehall,” Nuffy said.
His statements come at a particularly contentious time, as both Kartel and Beenie Man have claimed the title of King of Dancehall. Further praising the deejay, Nuffy said that Kartel deserves whatever money he asks for because he helps a lot of people.
“Yu si dem yout yah, him try fi help everybody. Suh yuh si when unuh hear him ask fi him money unuh gi him weh him bldclt deserve,” Nuffy stated.
He went on to state that Kartel returned from prison and changed the game, bringing Dancehall to new heights.
