Minister Marion Hall Honoured by City of Tamarac for Her Community Impact and Gospel Mission

International recording artiste turned gospel minister, Marion Hall, was officially recognized by the City of Tamarac in a ceremony attended by city officials, including Mayor Michelle J. Gomez, Vice Mayor Kicia Daniel, and other dignitaries.

The recognition celebrated Hall’s extraordinary contributions both as a cultural icon and a spiritual leader within the Tamarac community, and saw her receiving a medal of honour.

In a moving citation read by Vice Mayor Daniel, Hall was hailed as a trailblazer in the Dancehall music industry, notably as the first female Dancehall artiste to win a Grammy Award. Daniel also praised her bold transition to gospel music in 2015, describing Hall as a “trendsetter” whose life story reflects courage, conviction, and transformation.

Beyond her musical accolades, Hall was recognized as a pillar in the Tamarac community, where she leads numerous outreach initiatives. These include church missions, Juice Fridays for children, and active support for abuse survivors and the less fortunate.

She is also the founding minister of the Holy Ghost Pentecostal Church of Jesus Christ, serving both the spiritual and practical needs of residents.

Receiving the award, Minister Hall expressed gratitude, giving all glory to God. She recounted a divine moment years ago when, she said, “the Lord instructed me to give back all the money and cancel every show, telling me, ‘what I have planned for you is going to be bigger than you.’”

Quoting scripture, Hall said, “Your gift will make room for you,” referencing the new opportunities and purpose she has found through ministry.

Humbled and emotional, she shared another verse that encapsulated her journey: “Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” She also spoke about the church she now leads, one she says was promised to her by God and delivered in faith.
