Noel Maitland’s Trial Delayed: Here’s Why

The trial for constable Noel Maitland was set to commence on Monday, however, as per latest developments, the pre-trial hearing is set to run for multiple days, as a result of newly documents presented to facilitate witnesses who are based overseas.

The prosecution is seeking to have the testimony of witnesses based overseas heard during the trial. As a result of the move by the prosecution, the defence asked for time to review the documents on Monday.

On Sunday, Donna-Lee Donaldson’s Mother, announced that she will be going live Monday morning while at the courthouse and expressed hope that Noel will “confess” to what happened.

The trial was earlier scheduled to start in early April, on the heels of latest proceedings, it might get push back to May. The trial is expected to run for a bout two months after it starts.

Donna-Lee Donaldson’s mother reported her missing almost three years ago on July 13 of 2022. Maitland was charged in July of 2022 for the murder of Donaldson.

As per her mother, Maitland her daughter and another female police were entangled in a love triangle with Maitland that got deadly. The social media personality’s body has not been found, authorities theorize that she was killed on July 12, 2022.
