Noel Maitland’s Trial to Start

Constable Noel Maitland who was arrested and charged two weeks after Donna-Lee Donaldson went missing in July of 2022 is scheduled to go on trial, starting today May, 13. The lawenforcer who is also a music producer will be represented by a legal team which includes Christopher Townsend, Chadwick Berry, Kaysian Kennedy Sherman and Sanjay Smith.
The trial, which was earlier scheduled to begin in April, was hold up by an application by the prosecution as it relates to witnesses testifying remotely. As per a report from the Jamaica Gleaner, the court granted permission for 3 witnesses to testify remotely.
Last month, Donna-Lee Donaldson’s mother, Sophia Lugg went live and expressed hope that Noel would “confess”.
So far, there are some several damning arguments against Maitland, including, a bloody couch that was taken by a truck to a car wash to be cleaned. Someone who assisted Noel reportedly stated, “A whole heap o’ blood coming out the right side… Jesus, this man must dead. Him bleed out or this come in like dem kill somebody inna this.”
Maitland also reportedly requested for security footage to be deleted at his apartment, also his cell phone is reported to being in the same location which was the vicinity of his home, as Donaldson’s cell phone on July 12, the day prior to her being reported missing.
Plus the reported love triangle that Sophia Lugg detailed in one of her recent streams, highlighting that her daughter learned of Noel’s baby mother named Kathy during a discussion at the police station.
