Popcaan Supports Petition For Tory Lanez’s Freedom

Dancehall artiste Popcaan who has a longtime friendship with Tory Lanez took to social media Friday evening to share multiple screenshots with his fans, promoting a petition to help free the Canadian artiste and urging his Unruly fans to sign.

This endeavour from the Jamaican comes just days after Tory Lanez was stabbed 14 times while in a California prison. On the heels of the stabbing and Tory’s hospitalisation in a serious condition, a. bodyguard who was on the scene of the shooting incident involving Megan that led him to be in prison, reportedly stated that the ‘Say It’ singer did not pull the trigger.

Now there is a public outcry from more people asking for his freedom, aside from Popcaan, Drake also showed support on Friday by sharing a link to the petition page where over 200k persons have signed so far.

On one of the two screenshots that Popcaan shared to his Instagram story, Popcaan wrote, “Please sign this unruly state!!” On the next story post he tagged @ToryLanez and stated “ree my dawg!! we need our brother outside nos!!” along with prayer emojis.

The 32-year-old who is behind bars for the 2020 shooting incident involving Megan Thee Stallion is serving a 10-year prison sentence at the California Correctional Institution at Tehachapi. He has spent 4 years so far, October 2025 will mark 5 years since the Canadian has been behind bars.
