Reggae Boyz Beaten by Guatemala in CONCACAF Gold Cup

Guatemala started off the match on the front foot, dominating most of the first half. The Central American team initially found the back of the Caribbean team’s net in the 17th minute, however that goal was ruled offside.
Jamaica grew into the match has minutes passed by, letting off multiple shots on Guatemala’s goal after almost going a goal down. Following some pressure from Jamaica and a chance on goal, Guatemala counter-attacked in the 31st minute of the match and managed to score in the 32-second minute of the match.
Guatemala has never beaten Jamaica in Gold Cup’s history, prior to tonight. Despite that good stats, on the other hand, based on history, Jamaica has never return to win a match in the Gold Cup after going a goal down in the first half.
The win by Guatemala is considered by commentators as the ‘first upset of the tournament’. It’s the first time Guatemala has beaten the Reggae Boyz in over 12 years.
