Shooting on Waltham Park Road left 1 Dead and 5 Others Including a 2-Year-Old in Hospital

According to residents, at Bowens Road off Waltham Park Road in St Andrew, six persons including a 2-year-old was shot approximately 6:30 pm there. They were at a chill spot when a grey car stopped, and the occupants opened fire.

One woman who was one of the six people that was shot, succumbed to her injuries, she was pronounced dead at the hospital. She was not identified up to press time.

While the two-year-old was taken to Bustamante Hospital for Children and another person was in critical condition.
One man revealed that Bowens Road and the communities nearby were at peace and now the loving atmosphere has been shattered by the attack. A State of Emergency is now going on in the area. 

Persons say it seemed as though the men watched the area before the shooting, because there was a patrol by soldiers, minutes before the shooting took place.

It is really heart-breaking that the baby was shot, and they believe the soldiers are more vigilant than the police, as they noticed that the car with the gunmen passed the police when they were leaving the scene and even though the car was very dark, the police didn’t do anything to stop it. They only came afterward to find out what happened.
