Sizzla Kalonji Hang-out with Chance the Rapper Before Black Star Line Festival – Watch Video

American artiste Chance the Rapper is currently in Jamaica and visited reggae veteran Sizzla Kalonji’s Judgement Yard compound, as they are seemingly partnering for the rapper’s Black Star Line Festival.

Judgement Yard, one of Kalonji’s residences, is situated in the hilly terrain of August Town in Kingston. Rastafarian youth and Kalonj’s friends and family can often be spotted with the Solid as a Rock singer on the compound.

Judgement Yard is also the home of his recording studio and record label, Kalonji Records. Kalonji shared a video of Chance’s visit on his Instagram page, and the rapper and some of his guests can be seen signing a log book while enjoying the forested scenery.

Chance expressed his gratitude for being granted a visit to Judgement Yard, and Kalonji explained that they are currently structuring the next staging of the Black Star Line Festival. Earlier this month, Chance shared with The Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon his wish to host the event in Kingston, Jamaica. The festival’s title was inspired by Jamaican national hero and civil rights leader Marcus Garvey’s shipping line, the Black Star Line.

Chance and fellow rapper Vic Mensa launched the event’s first edition in January in Accra, Ghana, drawing 52,000 patrons to the city’s Black Star Square. Along with its massive concert, which featured Erykah Badu, T-Pain, and Tobe Nwigwe, the festival also consisted of various smaller events, such as skate sessions and other art and cultural gatherings around Accra.

It is not yet clear what plans they have for Kalonji’s Judgement Yard.
