To clarify the reason behind Popcaan’s denial of entry to the Freedom Street concert venue on New Year’s Eve, music producer Skatta Burrell revealed early this morning that it was due to the entertainer’s refusal to follow the venue’s security protocols.

According to a post shared by Burrell, events at the National Stadium are governed by strict rules and regulations, particularly concerning firearms. The post clarified that promoters do not have the authority to override these security measures, and all weapons must be handed over at the gate.

Burrell addressed several concerns. Some fans inquired about the reported three-hour wait Popcaan allegedly experienced, to which Burrell quickly responded, saying, “ABSOLUTELY NO ARTISTE WAITED 3 HOURS TO GET INTO THE NATIONAL STADIUM.”

Another question that commenters sought clarity on was why were the rules not included in the contract for all artistes. He explained that they are aware of the guidelines, but sometimes they are overlooked.

However, he emphasized that the National Stadium is strict about enforcing them.

Skatta went on to thank the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) and the security team for effectively enforcing the established protocols.

The post was also liked by Vybz Kartel, which raises the question of whether he agrees with Burrell’s post and has distanced himself from Popcaan’s handling of the matter.
