Shaggy set to perform on The Bachelor’s Listen to Your Heart on ABC

Jamaican superstar, Shaggy has been invited to perform live, on popular ABC television series, The Bachelor’s ‘Listen To Your Heart’ come this Monday, May 11th. Listen to Your Heart, is an American dating reality television series a spin-off of the Bachelor in Paradise television series, featuring 20 aspiring musicians living together, and going on music-related dates. The harmony of the couples is tested through musical challenges, including live performances, that are judged by some of the biggest names in music. Shaggy, is scheduled to appear in the semi-finals on Monday, May 11. ABC’s Listen to Your Heart will air on the ABC network channel at 8 pm Eastern time, which is 7 pm Jamaican time. Buju Reveals Why Reggae Won’t Get Mainstream Appeal

Drewbyrd, Sean G, and Shacia Payne had a conversation with Buju Banton when the inaugural episode of their Shabbaaaaa Sound Radio show took place on Apple Music. Banton explained how the authenticity of his genre kept it from grabbing the attention of mainstream.  “We don’t want to tell the people a lie. We have to tell the people the truth, and that is Reggae music,” Buju said in the interview. The veteran artiste believes that Reggae songs don’t get the mainstream appeal and the mainstream backing, because the music is a music aimed at uplifting something inside of people, not outside of them. He said he realized that when Bob Marley was telling us and also what Peter Tosh was singing about. Buju has not shifted his focus toward mainstream music, but the sound was drawn to him.
