Sumfest will be Virtual with Approximately 20 artistes

Approximately 20 artistes will be performing at a virtual staging of Reggae Sumfest, in less than two weeks. This was revealed  by CEO Joe Bogdanovich of Downsound Entertainment, in an interview recently. Bogdanovich said, ” a general feeling of disappointment lingered although many accepted that a cancellation of the physical staging of this year’s event was in everyone’s best interest”. He also said he and his team heard the fans cries for a virtual show and they acted on it, “We worked for a number of years to strengthen our partnership with the online platforms and it looks like now it is showtime”. This kind of virtual show has never been done in reggae music before on this kind of platform, and they believe it is a very positive move that everyone will benefit from. Well, known veteran Reggae Artiste Buju Banton has dropped his new album on June 28, 2020, and it has definitely been picking up traction. In a video interview done with the popular international radio station Hot 97, the legendary artiste on explaining the name of the album “Upside Down” said that the name came as a result of things being so upside down in the world and so the album is an effort to convey messages of motivation and upliftment to the people and to impact reggae positively. Ebro, one of the hosts of the interview went on to let Buju Banton know what a great experience it was visiting Jamaica in 2019 to attend his freedom concert after being incarcerated for a long while in the United States. Dancehall artiste Rygin King Shot and Injured

Dancehall artiste Rygin King was reportedly shot and injured. According to reports a female was shot and injured during the shooting and later died at hospital. It’s believed that Rygin King was with his manager and others when the shooting took place. The police’s Corporate Communications Unit said the incident happened in Westmoreland on Sunday June 28, about 3:15 p.m. after leaving a funeral.  A third person was reportedly shot and injured during the incident, Rygin King is current undergoing surgery. According to reports Rygin King was badly injured by an object after he got shot. Vybz Kartel has since posted on the matter, he wrote “Dont give up youth!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Shenseea’s manager, Romeich revealed in a recent interview with Chris Satta that he opted out the opportunity to work with Jada Kingdom due to her ‘poor work ethics’. Jamaican dancehall reggae artiste Tami explained why she decided to stay away from the music business in a recent interview with Nightly Fix, she spoke about the unwritten code that exists, and what happened when she finally realized that her colleagues wanted to have sex with her. Tami doesn’t have a desire to go back into the music business but she wants to talk about the issues, she says she has authority in her home and that is what she is holding on to now because no one will allow her to go on stage and talk about the unwritten code that she doesn’t like. The vendetta boss Alkaline has returned to the top spot in Jamaica youtube stream after releasing his latest music video and first of the year for his hit song titled “OCEAN WAVE”. Released on May 31st, OCEAN WAVE has racked up over 400k views in two days. SOME LYRICS “we a create big waves like the ocean… unuh neva see a force so strong”. Beenie Man the Jamaican dancehall Superstar says there is a big pent-up demand in the US for both him and Bounty Killer and he believes they would perform to sold-out venues if they could travel to North America. He also said “We coulda go all 50 states and represent dancehall again.
