These Are The New COVID-19 Cases in JAMAICA

These Countries has No Covid-19 Case

A confirmed number of six new Covid-19 cases has appeared in Jamaica adding to the previous number of six hundred and seventy-eight (678) to now six hundred and eighty-four (684). Four females and two males of Westmorland, St. James, Hanover, Trelawny, and the corporate area addresses according to the Health and Wellness Ministry make up the new cases. The ministry went on to further explain the cases by letting the news know of the six cases, four were from the United States that arrived on flights while the others were as a result of contacts of those infected. On a lighter note, the recovery number according to the ministry has increased to five hundred and twenty-six as a result of five recent recoveries. Generally describing the numbers the Ministry closed off by declaring two hundred and thirty-six of the cases to be from the Portmore based call center while there …

EARTHQUAKE SHAKES PORTMORE

An Earthquake has been detected in Portmore, Jamaica at 8.29 am on Friday with a magnitude of 3.5 as confirmed by the Earthquake Unit. The epicentre of the earthquake was recorded to be 15km Southeast of Hellshire in the parish of St. Catherine with a focal depth of 13.7km. Teens Charged with Robbery in Kingston

The teens that were charged with robbery are 19-year-old Kneeko Taylor, a janitor of Lyndhurst Road, and Dwight Lester, who is also 19 years old, of Arnett Gardens, Kingston 5. They were arrested and charged with robbery with aggravation connected to two separate incidents on Friday, June 20. The detectives assigned to the St Andrew Central Police Division Police reported, in the first incident, about 7:00 p.m., on Thursday, June 4 when a woman who was walking along Beechwood Avenue, Kingston 5 was allegedly attacked by Taylor who was armed with a knife, she was robbed of cash and other valuable items. Taylor was subsequently arrested, after an investigation was launched and he was placed on an identification parade, where he was pointed out before he was then interviewed and formally charged. Gay Jamaican Asylum seeker allegedly killed a US man at a Party

On the brink of being granted asylum in the United States a Jamaican gay man was arrested and placed in custody by the police on Wednesday for the stabbing of another homosexual in New York last month at a house party. According to the New York Daily News, Dead is 29 year old Derrick Willliams of Brooklyn at the hands of the accused Mckoy Dove a 23 years old resident of Bronx, New York. The events unfolded on the 29th of May, Mckoy Dove was apprehended by the police since earlier this week, Dove was on the run for approximately 3 weeks after reportedly stabbing Williams in his mouth “with a garlic-coated ice pick”. He was held in Yorktown, New York some 45 miles outside of New York City. NCB Manager Charged with Fraud, Reportedly Took 25mil out the Bank

A multimillion fraud has been committed by a senior manager at the National Commercial Bank. The investigation is still ongoing by the Police’s Counter-Terrorism, the Fraud Squad and Organised Crime Investigation Branch. The senior manager has been identified to be Andrea Gordon, 52, who worked at the Trafalgar Road branch of the Bank. She has been charged with theft as a servant. As claimed by the police, Andrea Gordon has been sending funds to her personal account from the bank’s account. The total amount that has been known so far is 25 million dollars that were transferred by her during the previous three years. Though, a complete audit is still in progress. It has also been suspected that she further transferred the amount to her children’s account. She has been offered station bail for one million dollars with guarantee. The burnt remnants of a female soldier, Lexton Clayton, 21; her two-year-old child, Tyler Taylor, 2; and boyfriend, Kimani Taylor, 28; were found on Saturday in St Thomas, at Beach Road. These are pictures from the privately kept funeral service for Jodian Fearon who passed away on April 24, 2020. The service took place 10AM at the Boulevard Baptist Church in St. Andrew, Saturday, June 6th, 2020. Jodian Fearon passed away after not getting adequate treatment at Hospitals in Kingston because of fears of her carrying the CODID-19 virus. Fearon’s family vows that they will fight for justice so that other families don’t face similar preventable tragedies. Boulevard Baptist Church in St. Andrew Jodian reportedly passed away hours after giving birth to her baby, further reports also stated that Jodian initially was instructed to do a C-section however because of complications at the hospital decisions were made for her to give birth naturally. Police Reports for the First 5 months in 2020 shows 11 % Reduction in all Major Crimes

The Jamaica Constabulary Force, JCF, revealed that all major crimes were reduced by 11 % in the first five months of 2020 compared to the corresponding period for 2019, but murders down by only 1 % when compared to 2019. Deputy Commissioners along with the Commissioner of Police, Major General Antony Anderson, addressed the nation recently, using video conferencing. Covid-19 and the States of Public Emergency were high on the agenda for the police when they delivered the report.  The high profile cases of Jodian Fearon and Jazmine Dean were also mentioned.  Jamaican’s have focused on tackling the COVID-19 pandemic, while the JCF used the time to make strides in bringing down the impact that the country’s crime problem has had on the lives of the citizens.   There has been a 41 % case clear-up rate in major crimes, and this was among the highlights of the crime fight.
