‘Talibans’ Surpasses 100 Million Views on YouTube

Dancehall Artiste, Byron Messia has achieved the monumental feat of reaching 100 million views today on YouTube for his hit single, ‘Talibans’ that was released in 2023. The video included appearances from fellow Dancehall artiste, Prince Swanny.
Since the release of the video on January 20, 2023, the track went on to be not just one of the biggest singles in the Caribbean, but the world. The evidence of this can be seen in numerous videos of the St Kitts singjay performing the song at jam packed venues all over the United States and Europe, with fans singing along word for word.
Celebrities and icons worldwide have also endorsed the track with the most notable ones being international superstars, Chris Brown and Burna Boy.

Talibans, produced by EJ Fya has also received many accolades including, Gold certification in Canada, Platinum certification in the United Kingdom, a spot on the Billboard Hot 100 charts and a Grammy nomination.
In an Interview with DBG media in 2023, the ‘90z’ deejay sat down and shared his thoughts on the success that ‘Talibans’ has been getting in such a short time span.
He said, ‘During the process I always knew the song was going to be a hit song, but I didn’t expect it to have the global appeal that it does now, its really a surreal feeling.”
Although the video for ‘Talibans’ reached a historic milestone, it wasn’t always celebrated leading up to the achievement as a there was an issue with Byron Messia and fellow Dancehall artiste Jeff Fullyauto which resulted in the latter talking legal action to have the video taken down for breaching copyright regulations regarding one of his singles that he released back in 2022.
This resulted in the ‘Talibans’ music video being removed briefly from the platform during December of 2024 until the issue was resolved.
Since then the deejay has been picking up where he left off as he did a tour in Europe earlier this year, performing at places such as Toulouse, France and Romford, England just to name a few. He also was the recipient of a Grammy Award in February of this year for his contributions to Chris Brown’s 11:11 deluxe album.
The music video currently has over 100,041,217 views. Watch ‘Talibans’ music video below.
