2024 has been a year of highs and lows for many Jamaican social media influencers, as controversy and issues surround the TikTok app. Nonetheless, the platform remains a profitable source of income for many.
This list is comprised of individuals who have seen a rise in their popularity on TikTok this year. However, sadly, some were not able to reach their full potential on the platform.
This list was curated by Yardhype and is based on the individual’s popularity on TikTok and other platforms where their contents are re-shared such as Instagram, YouTube, Facebook and X, over the past 12 months.
1. Niah Gang
During his time on the platform, Xavier ‘Niah Gang’ Fogah acquired over 220k TikTok followers, with his videos amassing a few millions, following his death, his page now has over 300k followers and over 6.6 million views. The father of one was shot and killed on December 7 at Panton Lane, St. Catherine, during a TikTok live stream.
Niah often shared inspirational videos on his page, with his final message on the platform expressing his wish to be wealthy in 2025. Despite his aspirational messages, the 23-year-old was also known to have had fallouts with other TikTokers, which some speculate may have led to his death.
2. King Donia
King Donia’s creation of viral soundbites on TikTok has seen him grow a strong fanbase drawn to his unique personality. He has so far acquired over 271,000 followers, and his videos have amassed over 3.3 million views.
His success on the platform has created partnerships with party promoters, with the popular TikToker hired to host several events.
3. Anna
Jamaican TikToker Anna, who recently had her first child, has seen a rise in popularity on the platform over the past year. However, her growth on the platform has been overshadowed by her relationship with her allegedly abusive partner Daniel, more popularly known as Red Ants.
Anna’s relationship with her mother Annie has also become a point of contention.
4. Jayden
Jayden has so far acquired over 326,000 followers on TikTok. His videos, which occasionally feature short comedic skits, have amassed more than 7.3 million during his time on the platform.
While he has grown a strong fanibase for popularising viral phrases online, he has been criticised for his cocky and, at times, aggressive behaviour on social media. He is best known for the catch phrase “skate pan the toll” which he said in 2024 during a rant.
5. 41 Buss Head
Marvin ’41 Busshead’ Samuels recently received a spike in popularity after one of his TikToks was used by Trinidadian rapper Nicki Minaj. The Super Bass singer later gifted the young social media personality multiple TikTok Lions.
However, at the height of his popularity, Samuels was shot and killed in Montego Bay. Similar to the murder of Niah Gang, social media users are speculating who killed the TikToker.
Currently, his TikTok page has a following of more than 160,000, and his videos garnered over 1.7 million views.
Other honourable mentions as it relates to TikTokers who made their names in 2024 include: Pops YG, Khandy, TJ and Moya.
