1 Person Dies from Plane Crash in St Mary – See Photos
A plane crash in St Mary this morning resulted in the death of one person. The small plane crash-landed in the hilly interior of Unity, near Hamstead, and is understood to have carried one individual and the pilot.
The report details that the pilot died at the Kingston hospital while receiving medical aid, but the other individual is recovering from only being shaken up.
According to the Jamaica Star, residents spotted the falling aircraft sometime after 11:00 a.m. and assisted in the search.
At the time of the report, police were still at the scene with fire department personnel and an ambulance from Port Maria Hospital. The police theorised that there might have been problems with the engine, resulting in the crash.
The destination of the plane, as well as the location it departed from, is currently unknown. Further details are pending as the police probe the scene.
