16-y-o Killed by Ex-Boyfriend and Her Companion Wounded in Westmoreland: Report

A teen was allegedly shot and killed and her male companion wounded by her ex-boyfriend in Westmoreland on Saturday.

According to reports, the incident happened this morning in the community of Grant Bush, at approximately 2:15 a.m. The victim, 16-year-old Tara Dennis, was employed as a waitress in Little London.

After leaving work, Dennis initially left to go home alone, but after reaching the Little London square, she met a friend, who is reportedly a mechanic.

The pair proceeded to go to Dennis’ home on foot and sat talking on the veranda after reaching the house.

While Dennis and her friend were talking, her ex-boyfriend allegedly entered the premises and began shooting at both of them.

During the gunfire, Dennis and her friend attempted to flee but received multiple gunshot wounds to their upper body.

After the suspect fled on foot, officers arrived at the home and rushed the victims to a hospital, where the teen was pronounced dead.

The name of the mechanic has not yet been released, but he is said to be 38 years old and was admitted to the hospital for the gunshot wounds he received in his back and abdomen.
