6 People Killed by Female Shooter at Nashville School, Including 3 Students

According to local authorities, six people, including three children, died in a school shooting in Nashville, Tennessee. A private Christian school that teaches children up to the age of 12 years old, was attacked on Monday morning.

The shooter, a 28-year-old woman who may have been a former student, as reported by multiple sources, was engaged and shot by Nashville police.

Metropolitan Nashville Police Department reported that on Monday morning, a heavily armed woman walked into a Christian school in Nashville and fatally shot three nine-year-old children and three staff members before she was neutralized by the police.

In response to the incident, police said one officer was injured by cut glass. The officers who entered the building listened to the sound of gunfire and went towards the source. They encountered the shooter on the second floor of the school and fatally shot her. The entire attack lasted about 14 minutes.

During the news conference, the police spokesman, Don Aaron, identified the woman as a 28-year-old Nashville woman who entered Covenant School through a side door on Monday morning. She was armed with two assault-style rifles and a handgun. Mr Aaron also explained that no police officer guards were at the school during the news conference.

About 200 students attend Covenant School in Nashville, where the incident occurred, the youngest of whom is pre-school age. Media reports stated that the school implemented an “active shooter” programme in 2022.
