It comes as no surprise that the eight-time Olympic gold medalist would be reaping success from his new passion for music and has been recognised for his work on his debut album Country Yutes.

Country Yutes was released on September 3, 2021, via Bolt’s A-Team Lifestyle record label and saw the Olympic champion taking a step back in the producer’s chair with his longtime friend and manager Nugent ‘NJ’ Walker taking the lead on vocals.

While discussing the album with GRAMMY.com, Bolt said Country Yutes was a reference to his childhood, as he faced challenges such as classicism when he moved from the “country” to live in Kingston.

The album debuted at number six on the Billboard Reggae Albums charts. On Saturday, a proud Bolt showcased his commemorative Billboard plaque on his Instagram page while thanking his supporters.

“Thanks to all my Fans who have supported me in everything I do. Just know I don’t take these moments for granted,” Bolt stated.

Country Yutes was recorded in Jamaica at Big Yard Studios, with Bolt and NJ serving as the writers on the album. The 14-track project features an inspirational intro by Bolt and includes the singles, Living the Dream, It’s A Party, and RIP My G. Bolt described the latter as a tribute to his friend Germaine Mason, who died in a motorcycle accident in 2016.
