Amid the resurgence of the popular Go Go Club riddim in its new iteration, the Dutty Money riddim, rising dancehall stars RajahWild and Najeeriii claim the top spots on trending music on YouTube in Jamaica with their featured tracks on the riddim, Go Go and Phat Phat.
Young dancehall great Masicka secures all three of the remaining spots in the top five with singles from his recently released album Generation of Kings.
Following its release on December 1, Generation of Kings remains a topic of discussion, securing top spots on both the US iTunes Reggae chart and the Billboard Reggae Albums chart. The artiste’s collaborative single with Popcaan Stars R Us claims the top #5 spot on trending.
Merging both the sobre and the uplifting in its lyrics and melodies, Stars R Us was co-produced by the deejay, born Javaun Fearon, and Moz “Mozeeko” Hamm. The track has garnered over 959,000 views and 23,000 likes since its release.
Masicka makes his second appearance on this top five list, with his single Reverse Time taking the #4 spot on trending. The deejay delves into his more grimy lyrical arsenal to assert his authority on this Donald “Razzy” Chen-produced track, as he declares there is no going back to a life of poverty.
Following its debut earlier this month, Reverse Time has acquired over 980,000 views and 22,000 likes.
Masicka takes the #3 spot on this top five list with another single from his six collaborative tracks, Triumph featuring Chronic Law and Lila Iké. Aptly named, the track has proven to be a triumph for Masicka, with the single amassing the most views of all his newly released songs from the album.
Produced by Masicka and Moz Hamm, Triumph has acquired over 1.1 million views and 36,000 likes.
One of the youngest artistes currently making a name for himself in the dancehall arena, Najeeriii takes the #2 spot with his recently released single Phat Phat. In the song, the artiste voices how impressed he is with a woman’s assets in this Rvssian-produced track, which features gym-themed visuals directed by Ruppi.
Phat Phat has garnered over 950,000 views and 39,000 likes since its release on December 6.
RajahWild secures the #1 spot on trending with his Dutty Money riddim Rvssian-produced track, Go Go. Keeping in line with Vybz Kartel’s track Go Go Club, Go Go praises women living a more promiscuous lifestyle.
The track has amassed over 1.7 million views and 69,000 likes following its release on December 9.
