Ye Declares That He “Washed” Drake and Kendrick Lamar
American rapper Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, has declared himself the greatest of all time and expressed that he has bested his fellow rappers Kendrick Lamar and Drake.
Long-simmering feuds between artistes are nothing new to Hip-Hop, with fans often egging on rivalries as they debate who is the Greatest Of All Time (G.O.A.T.). Amid the constant debate, rappers are known to proclaim themselves the best, with Kendrick recently dismissing comparisons between him, Drake, and J. Cole on the track Like That.
After Kendrick’s subtle shots at both artistes, some assumed Ye had chosen Kendrick’s side by sharing a link in his Instagram Stories to his No More Parties In L.A. A collaboration with the entertainer. However, Ye appears to have been refreshing listeners’ memories and showcasing how his rap skills stack up next to Kendrick’s, as he returned to Instagram on Thursday to declare that he had bested him.
The Flashing Lights rapper also took aim at his long-time rival Drake, proclaiming that he had bested him during their Larry Hoover benefit concert in 2021.
“EVERYONE KNOWS I WASHED KENDRICK ON NO MORE PARTIES IN LA EVERONE KNOWS I WASHED DRAKE AT THE FREE HOVER CONCERT,” Ye wrote.
Ye’s post was not reserved for only Kendrick and Drake, as the rapper also took shots at his former business partner Adidas and said that he was the one that brought them into the “culture” and then took them out. After several more proclamations, Ye said he is the only one to survive cancellation and is the G.O.A.T.
“I AM THE ONLY PERSON TO COME BACK TO NUMBER ONE AFTER CANCELLATION. THERE IS ONLY ONE GOAT. I STAND WITH ME. MY FRIENDS CALL ME YE.”
While some agreed with Ye’s declaration that he had bested both Kendrick and Drake, others dismissed his statements.
