Spice Reacts To Macka Diamond Declaring Herself “Trendsetter”
Dancehall artiste Macka Diamond seemingly threw shade on fellow artiste Spice on Friday, suggesting that the Needle Eye singer is copying her with her latest music video. However, Spice Quickly shut down any suggestion that Macka Diamond inspired her music video look.
Spice released her single 2085 Tea earlier today, with the track addressing various controversial topics in the artiste’s career. The single premiered alongside its music, which featured Spice dressed as an older woman as she served both the physical and metaphorical tea on her life and haters.
Following the release of the video, Macka Diamond took to her Instagram page to declare that she is the original trendsetter. In addition to a photo of herself dressed as an elderly woman, the Bun Him artiste also shared the music video for the single in which the costume was used.
The post garnered varied reactions, with some viewers agreeing that she had done it first. However, others criticised Macka Diamond for throwing shade at Spice when other artistes have done the same.
Spice later took to her own Instagram page to promote her new single. Using a quote from her new track to convey her feelings, the artiste expressed that she is minding her business and not anyone else.
Spice also shared a reposted photograph of Macka Diamond’s granny outfit as well as a clip from her music video. Seemingly sharing the real inspiration behind her song, the post also featured General Degree’s popular single Granny, which famously includes the fake voice of an elderly woman.
