Junelle Bromfield Clapsback at Critics ‘Insulting’ Her on X After Noah Lyles Reveals She Told Him Key Info About Jamaican Athletes

Jamaican athlete Junelle Bromfield has come under fire from Jamaicans flocking to social media to criticise the 400-metre runner for what some have described as the leaking of information to her boyfriend, American sprinter Noah Lyles.
During an interview on Track World News, Lyles discussed the recently released track and field documentary Sprint. After the host, Colin Waitzman, began discussing Elaine Thompson-Herah’s transition from the MVP track club and the conflicts surrounding her move, Noah shared that he has been aware of the drama for years.
“Junelle being Jamaican and having trained in MVP, I’ve been getting the drama from Jamaica and the camps for at least five years now. There’s a lot of times I make references to Jamaicans. I’m not saying it because I’m trying to go back and forth; it’s because I know information that other people don’t,” Lyles stated.
The athlete went on to share that Bromfield was very close to Thompson-Herah while she was at MVP and is still very close to Shericka Jackson, who remains at MVP. According to Lyles, Bromfield is also close to rising stars Oblique Seville and Kishane Thompson.
Lyles expressed that he was aware of their potential long before their recent outstanding performances on the track.
“I’ve known about a lot of the Jamaicans that are on the underground, and usually Junelle’s eye for talent is very strong. If she says that somebody is going to run fast, they usually run fast,” Lyles said.
The sprinter added that he was also informed about Thompson’s injuries.
After guest Noah Williams described Jamaican track Twitter/X as “the most toxic world,” Lyles admitted to having to exit the platform because it became too much. However, the sprinter pointed out that it is not only Jamaica and highlighted that American Twitter is also toxic.
His discussion on Jamaican athletes and the information he acquired from his girlfriend were not well received by many Jamaicans, who have since taken aim at Bromfield. The athlete is currently the #1 trending topic on X and has since deactivated her account on the platform.
While some X users have spoken out in her defence, many have described what she told Lyles as an act of betrayal.
“Pillow talk or not. These people are rivals with your man ‼️ these people are YOUR teammates ‼️ Junelle you and Noah affffiiiii go dung now. You a informa and him a muma lashy,” one X user wrote.
Miss Kitty also reacted to the saga.
Dancehall artiste Mr. Vegas has also reacted to the ongoing fiasco, writing, “Dude dated a Jamaican, JUST to get inside info! Jah Jah!”
Despite deactivating her X account, Bromfield is seemingly unbothered by the backlash. The athlete took to her Instagram on Tuesday to share that she is travelling and unconcerned.
“Living my best life because all these insult in the comments ain’t paying for these business class flight!!” Bromfield wrote captioning a video of her lounging and drinking on a plane.
