TikToker Moya has shared that the lawyer she retained after being physically assaulted is not cheap, but she will not be backing down.
Moya and her boyfriend, TJ Thuglife, were physically assaulted at the end of dancer Dancing Rebel’s birthday party on November 30 at the Mas Camp Car Park at the National Stadium. The incident, which involved artiste manager Romeich Major and an off-duty officer is currently under investigation.
After refusing to accept Major’s apology, hours ago, Moya shared a video indicating that she had retained the services of attorney Peter Champagnie Q.C., J.P. In the video, Moya said the incident has ruined her mentally, and some people online are behaving as if she asked to be assaulted.
The TikToker shared that while her lawyer is expensive, she will not back down as she is not only doing it for herself but for others who have been hurt.
“… This shit is costing. So I wish I could just walk away and leave it, but I cannot because mi affi stand up for those who don’t have a voice. Even at the same event a few hours before we got assaulted, there is a video of a young boy getting assaulted by either the same group of people. That’s crazy to me,” Moya said.
She went on to express that she is a principled woman and is not afraid to stand up for what is right even if her safety is at risk.
“Some people seh if mi nuh concern bout mi life. That’s fine by me because, as mi seh, if nobody stand up for it, if nobody brave enough fi stand up and face whatever corruption, power, whatever evilness a gwahn, violence a gwahn in a di country, how is it going to get better,” Moya stated.
