Ishawna took to her Instagram page, posting pictures and videos of herself attending the swearing-in ceremony that was held in Washington, D.C. In her post, she expressed deep admiration for the new president, labeling the moment as “historical” and referring to Trump as “OneDon.”

“Presidential Inauguration 2025🇺🇸❤️ It was an honor to witness this historical moment🥹.”

Since posting, it has stirred a range of emotions from followers of the Equal Rights artiste who reacted in the comment section by criticizing her career choices, questioning her support for Trump, and challenging why, as a Black woman, she would celebrate him.

However, others have speculated that it might be a marketing strategy to get more attention.

Similarly, Gramps Morgan shared a picture of Donald Trump on his Instagram account, accompanied by one of his songs, Positive Vibration, playing in the background. His post expressed congratulations to the 47th President and also shared his optimism for the “Golden Age” under his presidency.

“The people have spoken Pray for the Prosperity of America @realdonaldtrump Congratulations and looking Forward to the Golden Age. #positivemindset,” Morgan’s post captioned.

Like Ishawna, Morgan faced a mix of reactions in his comments section, with users voicing both criticism and support.

President Trump has not been a fan favourite among many Jamaicans, who have openly expressed concerns in the media about his tenure. For many, these fears stem from his remarks about mass deportations, ending birthright citizenship, and the perception that he holds racist views. Additionally, there are concerns that his policies will negatively impact Caribbean nationals.

Trump, the 47th President of the United States defeated Kamala Harris in the presidential race in 2024. He is currently serving his second term in office after winning 312 votes in the US electoral college compared with Harris’s 226.
