One such song is the artiste’s song Temperature, which celebrates its 20th anniversary this year. Temperature was released in 2005 on Sean Paul’s Grammy-nominated album, The Trinity, and went on to earn multiple platinum certifications.

The song is featured on music producer Rohan ‘Jah Snowcone’ Fuller’s Applause riddim alongside singles like Beenie Man’s Clean Yuh Heart. But it was Temperature that would garner massive attention internationally, topping the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

The song’s intro lyrics begin with Sean Paul declaring just how hot he can get women while innocently expressing how he wants to keep his woman warm. As he continues his temperature-themed lyrics with hidden sexual innuendos, the deejay boasts about his ability to turn on his love interest.

“Woman the way the time cold I wanna be keeping you warm. I got the right temperature to shelter you from the storm. Oh Lord, gyal I got the right tactics to turn you on. And girl I wanna be the pappa; you can be the mom,” Sean Paul sings in Temperature’s chorus.

The song’s music video depicts the four seasons with different video vixens featured with the deejay in each one. Female dancers are also featured prominently with Sean Paul as they traverse a chilly fall, freezing winter, rainy spring, and a hot summer.

The video concludes with a transition to a heavy-tempo outro and a party setting. Temperature‘s music video has amassed over 435 million views on Atlantic Records’ official YouTube channel.

The song is Sean Paul’s second most popular song on Apple Music and has surpassed one billion streams on Spotify, the deejay’s first solo song to do so on the platform.
