Acting Belize PM & Agriculture Minister Escape Injury After Plane Crash

The acting prime minister of Belize, Patrick Faber, along with the minister of agriculture, Godwin Hulse, were travelling in a plane that was forced to crash into the sea after the left landing wheel of their aircraft made contact with a passing vehicle that had managed to bypass one of the lowered barriers on Friday.

According to Caribbean News Now, “the Tropic Air flight from the Placencia Airstrip to Punta Gorda Town plunged into the sea off the coast not far from the airstrip. A rescue team was sent out and all passengers onboard the plane, including the pilot, were transported safely back to land. There were no reports of any sustained injuries.”

Prime Minister Dean Barrow is due to return here on Tuesday following a brief visit to the United States on “a personal visit”.
