Aidonia Shares Birthday Message to Late Son Khalif – See Photos and Watch Video
Following the passing of his 9-year-old son Khalif Lawrence, dancehall artiste Aidonia, born Sheldon Lawrence, shared a birthday message to his son on what would have been his tenth birthday.
Khalif passed away on December 3, 2022, following a three-year battle with cancer after his diagnosis in August 2019. He spent his last moments with his father and his mother, Kimberly Megan.
The 9-year-old’s passing was a shock to many in the entertainment community, and Aidonia and Kimberly received an outpouring of support from the deejay’s fellow entertainers and the public at large. Khalif was laid to rest in a heart-wrenching ceremony at the Boulevard Baptist Church in St. Andrew on January 7.
Several of Aidonia’s industry peers, such as Bounty Killer, attended the private service to support the Lawrence family as they said their final farewells to the 9-year-old.

During Aidonia’s first public appearance at the Sandz Caribbean Music Festival, the artiste had expressed his belief that his son was watching over him, and the Real Killa deejay frequently shares memories of Khalif on social media. On Wednesday, Aidonia shared a number of photographs of Khalif from when he was a toddler and videos from a previous birthday outing.
The artiste captioned one of his posts with the message, “Happy Birthday Papa Daddy Missing You! LOVE YOU.”
Also penning a message to Khalif, Kimberly expressed the magnitude of her grief and loss on Tuesday, writing, “Dec 3, 2022, my whole world came crashing down. I love you, I don’t know how to be ok. Life doesn’t even make sense anymore.”
