Amber Heard Says She Doesn’t Blame The Jury Because Depp Is A “Fantastic Actor”

American actress Amber Heard did an interview with Savannah Guthrie on NBC’s “TODAY” in which she finally spoke on the jury’s verdict of awarding her ex-husband, Johnny Depp more than $10-million in a defamation lawsuit.

In the interview, Heard shared that she does not blame the jury for their decision, however, she understands why they sided with him and that is because he is a beloved character and even more so, a “fantastic actor”.

She further dispelled the many criticisms that she has received in the media from persons whom she says claim that she lied about the ‘abuse’ that she suffered at the hands of her ex-husband.

“I don’t care what one thinks about me or what judgments you want to make about what happened in the privacy of my own home, in my marriage, behind closed doors. I don’t presume the average person should know those things. And so I don’t take it personally,” Heard said.

On June 1, a seven-member jury unanimously ruled that the domestic abuse allegations made by Heard were not substantiated with sufficient evidence, therefore, ruled in Depp’s favour for a defamation lawsuit that was filed by him in 2018.

Depp had sued for an amount of $ 50 million in damages, however, was awarded $10 million for compensatory damages and $5 million in punitive damages. Heard who had countersued for an amount of $ 100 million, was awarded $2 million in compensatory damages.
