Reggae artiste Buju Banton and Dancehall artiste Bounty Killer extended words of praise from one veteran to another on Sunday and Monday after Bounty lauded Buju’s concert in New York.
The UBS Arena in New York saw thousands of fans gather inside the large venue on Saturday to watch Buju’s first performance in the United States in over a decade. Bounty went on to praise Buju’s Long Walk to Freedom concert in a post on Instagram yesterday, dubbing it a “historical moment.”
Reacting to a Yardhype post about his initial reaction, Bounty, born Rodney Price, further praised the Wanna Be Loved singer in the comment section. Bounty described Buju as a big influence in music and highlighted that the artiste has been through a lot in the past few years.
“As y’all know that he’s a big influence in musical career kudos to the great Gargamel this brother has been through so much in recent times how can we not be happy for God’s blessings and mercies upon him to all fellow Jamaicans a clean heart is a healthy lifestyle👏🏽👏🏽,” Bounty wrote.
Following Bounty’s comment on Sunday, Buju also took to the comment section. He shared a few words of praise for the Hip-Hopera deejay, who he said has been fighting against the enemies of progress.
“Rodney priceless I see u my brother arguing with the enemies of progress. They are the ones who are not happy with us doing what God wants us to do. I BET YOU if we did red brown white the pussy dem would not have a problem. To all haters. BLack PROGRESS. Eat that,” Buju wrote.
