During his performance at his Lagos concert, video footage captured the moment that Nigerian entertainer, Burna Boy, kicked a fan who was climbing onto the stage back into the crowd.

His appearance in Lagos was a part of his scheduled stop in his Love, Damini Tour which started last year and is expected to end on June 24 – July 1, 2023, in Denmark for the Roskilde Festival.

After taking the stage at an estimated time of four hours after he was supposed to perform, the entertainer, born Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu, was getting into his set that his fans waited so long to see, only to step in the face of a supporter who tried to climb onto the stage.

The video of the incident, only a few seconds short, sees Burna Boy performing live with his shirt off, and stopping momentarily as he is crossing the stage to push a fan back into the awaiting crowd with his foot.

Hours later, the singer posted an explanation for the late start to his performance on his Instagram story. In the apology, he stated, “I love you but I can’t do this again. The organizational structure and infrastructure is not there for the complexities of my audio and Production needs.”

He continued by pointing out that neither he nor his band was late because they pride themselves on being highly professional, however, there were existing audio issues that prevented him from taking the stage and he could either wait for it to be resolved, perform at his 11 PM slated time with bad audio or pull the plug on the entire the show.

In light of this, he says he has a responsibility to not “neglect my own people,” so he will be building his own infrastructure for entertainment purposes. He called on interested investors and then apologized to his fans for how the night turned out.

“I apologize to my fans for how hectic it was, thank you for staying and weathering the storm with me ❤️.” He ended the post by saying, “I’ll see you again, on spaceship time! No one else’s. Love, Damini.”
