African Giant Burna Boy is seemingly not only in Jamaica for pleasure but for work as well. The It’s Plenty singer has vocals on the new Talibans remix with St. Kitts dancehall artiste Byron Messia and mentioned his rumoured girlfriend, Jada Kingdom, in his verse, proclaiming that he bought her a Birkin bag.
Talibans has proven to be a breakout hit for on-the-rise artiste Byron Messia, with American R&B artiste Chris Brown releasing an unofficial remix to the track on social media. Undoubtedly a testament to the single’s growing popularity internationally.
Byron Messia had revealed that a number of international artistes had approached him, expressing interest in remixing Talibans. Recently he confirmed the official remix will have Burna Boy on it.
Burna Boy recently returned to Jamaica for his second vacation on the island following his short stay last December. In footage circulating on social media, Byron Messia and Burna Boy appear to be filming a music video.
In his verse on the new single, Burna Boy proclaims, “The pest pum pum deh a Kingston, suh mi buy a Burkin fi Jada Kingdom.”
The line is seemingly a reference to both Byron Messia’s original verse in the track, “Member me born Kingston. They love party, forget, love drink rum. AK shake like a Jada Kingdom,” and Jada’s recent single with The 9ine, Turn Me On, during which she sings, “You gon need a Birkin if you wanna show me off.”
Rumours that Jada and Burna Boy were romantically involved first sparked after the Budum singer was spotted wearing a chain bearing a “Damini” pendant, Burna Boy’s birth name. The chain also bore a striking resemblance to the one worn by Burna Boy on multiple occasions.
The pair were later spotted together after Burna Boy’s performance in Holland on his 32nd birthday on July 2.
