Byron Messia’s feud with dancehall artiste Teejay does not appear to be nearing its end with Messia seemingly taking another jab at the Up Top Boss hours ago, highlighting his three most streamed songs versus Teejay’s hit Drift.
Both Teejay and Byron Messia have enjoyed massive success in 2023 owing to their singles, Drift and Talibans, which were released in January and April, respectively. Teejay’s Drift proved to be a viral sensation, taking over social media and garnering much international attention.
Byron Messia’s Talibans was a juggernaut on the charts, quickly surging up on the UK Singles chart. The artiste recently declared that he had the biggest dancehall track since 2005 and continues to showcase the success he has garnered during his career as a young deejay.
Sharing some stats with his followers on Instagram, Byron Messia reposted a list of the ten most-viewed songs so far in 2023 on YouTube for Jamaica. According to the list, the 23-year-old Kittian deejay currently has three singles, which have garnered massive viewership on the platform.
His hit single Talibans, which has amassed 51 million views on YouTube since its release on January 20, Talibans II featuring Burna Boy, which has amassed 14 million views since its release on July 20, and Moca, which has garnered over 13 million views so far after its release on March 17.
The three songs combined would make Byron Messia the highest-viewed artiste on this list, with his fellow deejays Teejay, Popcaan, Malie Donn, 450, Masicka, and Jahshii having only one single on the list. All their singles amassed less than 20 million views, except Valiant, whose singles Expensive and Glock 40 were featured on the list with a total of 29 million views. Teejay’s single Drift has amassed 12 million views since the release of its music video on May 19.
