The love she has for Spice was so great at the age of thirteen that the ‘Up’ singer made her father buy her the same blouse she saw Spice wearing.

Naming Spice as one of her biggest influences, Belcalis thinks of herself as a Spice superfan who knows all of her older songs that are not on Apple Music.

The Dancehall Queen herself confirmed that Cardi B is indeed a huge fan of hers who was singing her songs “word for word” when she first met her. The confirmation was pinned in the caption of an Instagram post she shared with a clip of the podcast.

Tagging her, Spice wrote, “@iamcardib the first time I met you, you was singing my songs word for word, even songs that I didn’t even remember, you’ve definitely been a huge fan since day 1 no lies told.”

For Cardi B to take on Dancehall though, she said she would have to be able to produce an authentic sound. Nevertheless, she was encouraged by the panel to give it a shot, despite admitting to being nervous while doing dancehall and reggaeton.

The ‘WAP’ artiste, who has been seen in various videos singing and dancing to dancehall music, added that there could be a potential collaboration with Spice.

The 29-year-old rapper hails from the Bronx, New York where the Jamaican culture is very influential.
