In an audio recording reportedly of Cocoa Tea’s eldest daughter, Roshaine Scott shared why she did not attend his funeral and her grievances with her father’s wife, Malvia Scott.
Following his death last month, Cocoa Tea’s family and supporters gathered at The Verandah in Clarendon on Sunday to bid farewell to the iconic Jamaican singer. Members of the Scott family, including Malvia and Yackeisha Scott, Cocoa Tea’s daughter, attended the service.
According to Rushaine, family members have been bashing her and her younger brother Junior because they did not attend the funeral. In the audio recording of Rushaine, which started circulating online on Monday, she said that she was speaking out so that people would know the truth.

While she highlighted that her father was a good person, Rushaine said that he did not choose a good partner. She accused Malvia of having multiple affairs and using her father’s money to take care of her lovers.

“… What I am sure of is what my dad told me 2003. Between 2003 when he came here when I was here in New York my father meet me and I ask my father for some money and mi fada seh him nuh have nuh money because she go in a him account, and shi gone. Dem spend up di wull a him money,” Rushaine stated.
She further shared that her father did not explain the entirety of the situation to her at the time, but it appears that his wife was having an affair at that point. According to Rushaine, Cocoa Tea’s funeral expenses were paid for by other members of the family.
