It is a very distressing time for Manchester United star, Cristiano Ronaldo, and his girlfriend Georgina Rodriguez who lost one of their twins during childbirth.
The dreadful news of their son’s death was shared on Ronaldo’s Instagram page today (Monday) and the couple has since been receiving many condolences from fans, celebrities and sports stars.
The 37-year-old footballer, who announced in October 2021 that he and his 28-year-old girlfriend were having twins, describes the loss of their newborn baby as “the greatest pain” they have ever felt and requests privacy as they heal.
Cristiano Ronaldo confirmed his twin daughter’s safe delivery and stated she was now the reason why they had the strength to push through “with some hope and happiness”.
“It is with our deepest sadness we have to announce that our baby boy has passed away. It is the greatest pain that any parents can feel. Only the birth of our baby girl gives us the strength to live this moment with some hope and happiness. We would like to thank the doctors and nurses for all their expert care and support. We are all devastated at this loss and we kindly ask for privacy at this very difficult time. Our baby boy, you are our angel. We will always love you,” the statement read.
