American rapper Jonathan Lyndale Kirk, more popularly known by the stage name Dababy, is currently in Jamaica for a scheduled performance at Mocha Fest in Negril later this evening.

The five-day long event started on Thursday, May 23 (Labour Day) and will come to a close on Tuesday, May 28, 2024.

Over the weekend, Dababy uploaded multiple videos to his Instagram account announcing his arrival and showcasing his activities before his performance.

The first video was of a bus ride with the entertainer stating, “Jamaica, Jamaica. Mocha Fest you know what time it is…”

The second video, which he captioned, “Real BAD MON just touched down…”, shows Dababy and his crew inside a souvenir store.

“Run the video man. Respect, let them know I’m here…rude boy is in the building,” he exclaimed over the excitement of people chattering in the background.

Video number three sees Dababy at the venue with some other individuals playing basketball while the people work on getting the venue ready in the background. It was captioned, “Some quick REC before the show.”

Many people in the comments were questioning why ‘everyone’ was suddenly visiting Jamaica due to the recent influx of celebrities to the island even though Jamaica has always been a favoured vacation spot for foreigners.

One person said, “Why everybody going to Jama??,” while another pointed out, “There’s no other culture is imitated like the Jamaican culture 😂😂🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲.”
