D’Angel Added to Sting’s Lineup

Sting’s organisers have added dancehall’s war angel Michelle Downer, professionally known as D’Angel, to their stellar lineup for this year’s staging of the grand one-night reggae and dancehall event. The news that D’Angel will be performing at the December 26 event at Jamworld in Portmore, St. Catherine, was made public on Thursday, five days before the big day.

In the announcement that was shared by the No Worries artiste, she posted a photo of herself added to a Sting flyer and left a note that highlighted her strength and abilities. “They threw me to the wolves but I came back leading the pack. See you at Sting 2023 #teamdangel #godawork 🙏 ,” she wrote in the Instagram post.

This post attracted jubilant responses from fans who sent congratulatory messages to the dancehall artiste. One fan wrote, “War angel can beat the twin in a clash no joke,war angel being on the scene long enough to understand what a war is about,am not asking anyone am telling yall no joke.”

Another commented, “🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🙌🙌🙌why worry when God a work 👏👏well done the first Lady of dance hall.”

Some persons also expressed that D’Angel’s addition to the Sting’s roster of performers has been long overdue, given that she was previously banned from the event years ago. One fan wrote, “👏👏👏👏happy you deserve to be there fi years.”

The announcement comes weeks after D’Angel teased a diss track aimed at multiple members of the dancehall fraternity, including her ex-husband Beenie Man and her ex-boyfriend Bounty Killer. K Queens in reply to D’Angel dissing Bounty Killer, took shots at D’Angel.

Interestingly, Bounty Killer is also among the list of performers booked to take the stage on Boxing Day. Other entertainers that are expected to perform include Yeshie Renee, Tommy Lee Sparta, Tearah, Sexy Danger, Nubian, Spragga Benz, Quick Cook, Anthony B, Ragga Ruggie, Alpha, Anaicon, and Capleton.
